The red bulb

Here comes 2011 and my first sketch of the year - I did a bit more work on this one and ended up with a color version. It was kind of fun, reminded me the time when I used to paint with inks, I'll probably do more of these in the future. I wanted to post something before, but I was on vacation in France and I've been cultivating my jet lag since I got back - sort of a bad excuse, really, I could have got my pencils out rather than watching movies, but my brain was in a fog and refused to answer my calls.

Mind controlling squids

Ok, my new painting is a lot more work than I thought. So, in the meantime, I thought I'd draw something else.
What would happen if giant mind controlling squids took over the world ? what if they'd control our monsters to achieve their ultimate objective ?  I know this sounds crazy, but it would be so cool ! And again, unlike mind controlling squids, I don't control what comes out of my head...

Sushi - some ideas just don't gel well

I haven't done much sketches lately because I'm intensively working on my next painting. So, I thought, well, why not share something here that I've learned while painting Sushi. You see, originally, I had in mind to create a flat/cartoony design that looked awesome on paper, but just didn't end up working as well as I thought it would. Thanks for all the folks and friends who pointed out (the obvious) to me - the final image looks miles better :)

Sushi

Here is a caricature of my goldfish - his name is 'sushi' and this portrays him in a good day. He always looks grumpy but I don't think he is. He's just a nice fellow who does a good job at whatever he's doing.

More critters

Here're two more lovely fellas - not as fun as the other three, I must say though, I don't have much control on what comes out of my head. I'll just keep fishing in there, never know what kind of other critters might bite !
